Joining Meon Valley Lodge No. 8336 is straightforward, welcoming and open to men of good character who are interested in becoming a Freemason in Hampshire. If you live in or around the Meon Valley, Bishops Waltham, Fareham, Southampton, Portsmouth or Winchester and would like to learn more about joining the Freemasons, the first step is simply to get in touch with us.
We will arrange an informal conversation, usually over coffee, so you can ask questions, meet members and understand what Freemasonry in the UK involves. There is no pressure and no obligation. If you decide that becoming a member of our Hampshire Masonic Lodge is right for you, we will guide you through the simple application process and explain the next steps clearly.
Freemasonry is about friendship, integrity, personal development and charitable giving and we welcome enquiries from anyone who shares those values.
Meon Valley Lodge is a friendly and progressive lodge in Botley, Hampshire. We meet six times a year at Brook House Masonic Centre in Botley, on the third Friday in January, March, May, September, October & November.
Meetings involve traditional ceremonies, learning and development, charitable updates, and time spent socialising with fellow members. It is a structured yet friendly environment built on respect and shared values.
It is preferable, as you will then know at least one person when you join, but it is not essential, as we have a new member joining & mentoring process in place.
There is an initial joining fee and annual subscription which covers membership, regalia and Lodge costs. We will always explain fees clearly and transparently before you make any decision.
Freemasonry is often described as a society with secrets, not a secret society. Our values, charitable work and membership are open and transparent.
We welcome visitors from other lodges to our meetings if you would like to join one of our meetings please contact our secretary at secretary@meonvalleylodge.co.uk
Members gain lifelong friendships, personal confidence, public speaking skills, charitable involvement, networking opportunities and a strong sense of belonging within the Hampshire Freemasons community.
From initial contact to becoming a member usually takes a few months, allowing time for you to fully understand Freemasonry and for members to get to know you.
Any man over the age of 18 may join regardless of ethnic group, political views, economic standing or religion although he is expected to have a faith. You do not need to be invited, you can contact us directly.
